As a result of our mixed age classes, we are making use of the White Rose sequences of learning for mixed age classes. These are designed to support children by planning the learning in small steps.

Whilst the overviews in WRM are presented in blocks, staff also make use of distributed and interleaved practice approaches to support pupils' learning.

The children have regular sessions to help them build fluency and automaticity with key arithmetic knowledge. This supports their working memory when they approach more complex calculations.

We make use of retrieval time in lessons to help pupils to consolidate their learning.
